At the end of May Duxbury Networking
is launching its Duxbury Wi-Fi range of wireless access points (APs) and
point-to-point (PtP) bridges to meet the demand for cost-effective APs and
bridges.
The new range will include:
- Wireless
access points
- Wi-Fi
5 and Wi-Fi 6
- Indoor
(ceiling mounted) and outdoor options.
- Wireless point-to-point
and point-to-multi-point (PtMP) bridges
- 5
GHz and a dual band option
- Outdoor
units.
The
indoor APs in the range include:
·
3 x Wi-Fi 6 options with AX1800 and
AX3600 speeds. The top of the range AP will ship with a 2.5Gbps Ethernet port,
the other two with 1Gbps ports. Model references are DUX880AP, DUX840AP and
DUX820AP.
·
2 x Wi-Fi 5 options with AC1200
speed, capable of supporting 128 maximum users per AP. Wave 2 is supported on
both the DUX240AP and DUX420AP access points.
The outdoor AP range
includes:
- 1 x Wi-Fi
6 AP (DUX840AP) supporting AX1800 speeds
- 1 x Wi-Fi
5 AP (DUX420APO) supporting AC1200 speeds
The
PtP and PtMP bridge range includes:
- One dual
band bridge (DUX2200CPE), with AC1200 speeds supported
- Two 5 GHz
bridges (DUX512CPE and DUX450CPE) supporting 900 Mbps speeds. 14dBi panel
antennas are built into the bridges.
“All
the products will be PoE powered but can also be powered using an optional 12 V
power supply. Initially the products will support a free, but very basic, cloud
management system. We will add wireless controllers to the product portfolio in
the second half of the year, which will offer more advanced features. We are
also currently investigating the possibility of hosting our own local cloud
servers in South Africa,” says Tobie van Schalkwyk, product manager for NETGEAR
at Duxbury Networking.
